I missed a couple roundtables during my hiatus, but this week's questions were so, um, interesting that I had to participate. Hawkeye State at Black Heart, Gold Pants is hosting this week.
Here are the questions followed by my answers.
You know what? Screw your team. I hate your team right now; I'm an Iowa fan, and I have anger in my heart. Name your top conference rival, and assess their season to date. If you haven't played them yet (and I don't think anyone has), how are you going to do when that fateful day comes?
I suppose Wisconsin is our biggest rival and the Badgers continue to excel while the Gophers continue to, well, be less good. In years past, the Gophers have upset the Badgers while they were trying for a Rose Bowl bid, and I think we could do the same this year. By the final week of the regular season when the Gophers host the Badgers, Tim Brewster will likely be willing to do just about anything to notch his first Big Ten win. He wouldn't want to enter the recruiting season without having a conference win under his belt. Expect Brewster to get Laurence Maroney to put on Amir Pinnix' jersey to help the Gophers up end the Badgers' national title hopes.
If your season to date was an album (or CD, for all you young hippety-hoppers), what would it be and why?
Bad by Michael Jackson. Why? We're 1-4, have lost to Florida Atlantic and Bowling Green and our lone victory has come in two overtimes against Miami (Ohio). The Gophers are bad. Period. No matter how hard Tim Brewster tries to spin. Michael Jackson won a close three horse race for this honor. First runner-up goes to Madonna and Like a Prayer and second runner up goes to Nine Inch Nails for The Downward Spiral. Also in the running was The Pretenders with Pretenders and The Beatles with Help!
If you had three minutes alone in a locked room with any coach from your team and you could bring any item along (nothing sexual, tOSU fans), which coach would you choose, what would the item be, and how badly would you pummel Ken O'Keefe why would you choose that item?
Tim Brewster and a muzzle. This way, I wouldn't have to chastize him every time he says something insane (think Gopher Nation, Pasadena and his personal grade of an A through a 1-4 start).

You can take your muzzle and stick it where the sun don't shine. Your weak blog is everything that is wrong about the internet.
Thanks for reading, anon. The ability for people to speak openly and critical is exactly what is beautiful about blogs and the Internet. Oftentimes beat reporters have to be by nature too chummy with their sources to say what they truely believe.
I thought this post was hilarious, though I think I would have went with Madonna's album if for no other reason than to post her picture instead of MJs.
Don't listen to the anonymous dude above, PJS, it's probably Tim Brewster.
Wisky isn't going to have any national title hopes to disrupt. Winning by three against MSU isn't indicative of an undefeated season.
I agree Erik, but there is still a chance. There's no one on the schedule that is 'unbeatable'. If they win every game by 3, they'll end up, wait for it, UNDEFEATED! Every game from here until they have 2 losses is a big one.
Thanks, Madonna...
I would have to (cringing) say that Wisconsin has as good a chance as any Big Ten team to get a National Title shot this season. I don't think they are near good enough, but if they can run the slate, they should be in.
